Issued since 1849, the 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin are among the most beautiful gold coins.
The obverse of the coin depicts the Statue of Liberty, as depicted by American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, facing the obverse of the coin, with her hair flowing behind her and holding a torch, as if walking towards the obverse of the coin.
In her right hand: Lady Liberty inspires and guides others on the path to freedom. In her other hand, she holds an olive branch, often a sign of peace. The combination of these two elements reveals the power and grandeur of the Statue of Liberty. Behind her, we notice the US Capitol building and the flames that seem to emanate from it. Next to its left foot (bottom right when looking at the coin) is the coin's reference year, here 2023. In addition to the year of release, the word "Freedom" is engraved below the head of the coin. protagonist. Finally, fifty stars, the national emblem of the United States, are distributed around the perimeter of the coin.
The reverse of the coin features a new 2021 design by American designer Jennie Norris. It presents a portrait of the bald eagle, the symbolic animal of America. The eagle is drawn in profile, accentuating the details of its plumage as well as its determined look. What seems to be conveyed here is a sense of pride. There are several inscriptions on the reverse of the coin. First, the words "United States of America", "$25", and "1/2 ounce of pure gold" are placed above and around the coin. Then, above the eagle's head, we find the Latin words "e pluribum unum", an American motto which literally means "one of many", and "In God We Trust ", the official national motto since 1956. The letters "JN" and "RG" flanking the eagle refer to the initials of graphic designer Jennie Norris and sculptor Renata Gordon, respectively.
